Cervical Screening for Trans, Non Binary, and Gender Diverse Patients - eLearning

About

Cervical Screening for Trans, Non-Binary, and Gender Diverse Patients is a free, self-paced online module designed to help clinicians provide cervical screening with respect, inclusivity, and clinical accuracy. This course is ideal for healthcare professionals across all disciplines who want to improve their understanding of the unique needs of trans and gender-diverse patients. Participants will learn about eligibility criteria, anatomy-based risk factors, and the importance of using inclusive language. The module also addresses common barriers that prevent trans and gender-diverse individuals from attending cervical screening, and offers practical strategies to increase screening rates while protecting patient dignity, autonomy, and trust. Developed in collaboration with trans-led organisations and expert clinicians, this module focuses on person-centred care that respects each patient’s identity and experience. Whether you are a GP, nurse, allied health professional, or student, this course will help you deliver safer, more affirming cervical screening services. Thanks to funding from Pride Foundation Australia, this module is available free of charge. No prior experience with trans health is required. Start today to build your confidence and competence in inclusive cervical screening. A short quiz is included at the end. Participants who complete the module and quiz will receive a certificate of completion. It has been allocated 1 CPD hours according to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Continuing Professional Development Standard.
