HIV (human immunodeficiency viruses)

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that weakens the immune system and is passed on through blood, semen, vaginal fluids, and anal fluids, most commonly during unprotected sex or by sharing injecting equipment. Without treatment it can lead to AIDS, but modern antiretroviral medications allow people with HIV to live long, healthy lives. Knowing how HIV spreads and how testing, condoms, PrEP, and treatment can reduce your risk helps you enjoy sex and pleasure while staying safe.
